German design studio BUDDE was founded in 2020 by Johannes Budde and Meike Papenfuss.
As a strong duo, Architect Johannes Budde drives the creative vision, complemented by Meike Papenfuss’ business and brand expertise.
Rooted in architecture, the studio’s practice spans furniture, objects and spatial design, shaped by structural clarity, material properties, and the interplay of form and space. BUDDE operates between collectible design and industrial production – creating handcrafted pieces with sculptural presence as well as developing scalable collections in collaboration with international brands.
Each design is conceived to be intuitively understood, to invite explorative interaction, and to evoke an emotional response. The limited editions are created as collectible works – handcrafted, material-led, and defined by a strong sculptural expression. The designs are presented through leading galleries such as Galleria Rossana Orlandi in Milan or Stéphanie Frederickx Gallery in Knokke, Belgium.
The industrial collections are developed in collaboration with international brands including mogg (IT), Metallbude (DE) and Viefe (ESP) – engineered for scaled production, global distribution, and everyday use. Driven by curiosity, BUDDE continuously explores new materials and manufacturing processes, supported by a growing network of partners.
